FOUND OBJECT ASSEMBLAGE The cast-offs of our disposable culture find their way back into our society’s art galleries and homes through offbeat sculptural arrangements, often humorous, always intriguing. With Michael to guide you, try your hand at this fun and funky art of assemblage sculpture. It's art made with imagination, incredible junque, and creative hands. Michael's collection of old architectural bits and pieces, toys, mechanical objects, old tools, musical instruments, old wood boxes, bits of trim—you name it, it will find a delightful new life in assemblage sculpture. He’ll supply plenty of objects he has “found”. And he’ll have the tools needed for you to put it all together. You’re welcome to bring a pile of your own finds. Could be you’ll want to trade treasures with fellow participants. CLASS CODE: 8B-775 |

PAPER MACHE CONTAINERS Learn papier mache from Carole Spelic’, an expert in the art form, as you create two small painted and embellished papier mache containers in either a bowl or box shape. Using Carole’s own papier mache mash recipe, you’ll mix up a batch and form it over a mold to create a small vessel. This one you’ll take home to dry and finish on your own later, but Carole will bring some vessels she has premade for you to finish in class. There will be lots of embellishments on hand but you are welcome to bring your own yarn, beads, baubles or whatever for decoration. CLASS CODE: 8B-785 |
