COLLAGE: THE LAYERED LOOK Take collage beyond cut and paste with the use of mixed media. We’ll use acrylic paints and mediums, gesso, stenciling, stamping, gel pens, water soluble oil pastels, and more to get that layered look. We’ll play with some easy techniques for creating great looking backgrounds and textures and we’ll discuss types of acrylic paint, supports, mediums, glazes, and adhesives. Then you’ll have time to use what you’ve learned in at least a couple of small pieces of your own. Fee covers all necessary supplies including plenty of collage materials, but you are encouraged to bring pictures, photos, fabric and ribbon scraps, printed text, buttons, beads, or whatever you’d like to personalize your work.
