Why We Ask for Money
Shake Rag Alley is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization.
Tuition and fees cover less than 50 percent of the school's operating expenses.
The balance comes from a variety of sources including individual contributions,
bequests, in-kind donations of goods and services, grants from private
foundations, benefit performances and other fundraising events.
We're not only running an art school for adults and children, we're also committed to preserving and maintaining eight historic buildings used for classrooms, as well as keeping the weeds pulled and the flowers blooming on our 2.5 acre campus. We have four dedicated part time staff, and a fantastic group of enthusiastic volunteers who care greatly about the future of Shake Rag Alley and help with a multitude of tasks. We welcome your support, either in dollars or volunteer expertise.
