19R165J - Photo Plus Encaustic: Level II
June 14-16, 2019
Friday-Sunday, 9am-4pm
Sarah Rehmer

19R165J - Photo Plus Encaustic: Level II

This workshop will expand on basics that have been covered in the level one workshop. A brief refresher on materials and methods will be presented on the first day before Sarah will meet one-on-one with students to develop a work plan for expanding their skill set. Students will be encouraged to be thinking about series or works, modular work, and more complicated skills such as underpainting and layered imagery. Students should have attended an intro workshop with combining photography and encaustic, or have a good working knowledge of the encaustic medium and be seeking to expand their studio practice with the introduction of photo-based images into the work.

Basic photo papers, printing, encaustic paints, and tools will be provided for use. Other printing surfaces can be brought if desired, and usage will be discussed at the time of the workshop.

Level: Beginner and above
