These pendants begin with making your own bezel with copper wire and simple forging and wrapping techniques. Then the bezel is filled with textured polymer clay and thin wire shapes to create areas to color with mica powders. After baking, the bezel is topped with UV Resin for a faux cloisonne effect.

Cheryl Smeja is a Mineral Point leather artist, nationally known for her pioneering work in wet-formed leather sculpture.
