19R215N - Stitch Journaling

Merriam-Webster defines journaling as "a record of experiences, ideas or reflections for private use."

In this class, we will delve into a variety of ways fabric and stitching can be used to record those experiences, ideas, or reflections. We will look at a variety of formats, from traditional to non-traditional, that your journal might take. Through exercises and experiments you will stitch and embellish using thread, beads, and paint to create a way of journaling that will be unique.

Level: Novice and above

Student Supply List:
Please bring a variety of fabrics (much will be hand sewn, so not heavy or thick fabric) in solids and prints, a variety of threads (embroidery floss, perle cotton, sewing thread), sewing scissors, hand sewing, embroidery, and beading needles (a variety pack is best), any inspiring embellishments you might want to use including but not limited to beads, bangles, sequins, mirrors, etc., general hand sewing supplies (tape measure, small ruler, thimble, etc.).

Tuition $220
Materials Fee $10
