Snow/ice dyeing is a fun technique using Procion fiber reactive dyes and snow or ice, resulting in colorful fabric that has a lot of depth and beauty. The randomness of the result is part of the intrigue. Learn about the properties of reactive dyes and try different resist methods for use with this dyeing technique. The brilliant dyes need to cure overnight, and anticipation of the “reveal” of fabrics on the second day is a thrill. The results are serendipitous and gorgeous. Materials fee includes 2 yards of PFD cotton fabric, Procion dyes, masks, gloves, and use of class materials – dye bins, soda ash, and other materials.

Level: Beginner and above

Student Supply List:
Old clothes or smock.

Tuition $145
Materials Fee $30
