Nancy Huffman

18K155 - Batik

Learn this ancient method of color dyeing. To make a batik, selected areas of the cloth are blocked out by brushing or drawing hot wax over them, and then the cloth is dyed. The parts covered in wax resist the dye and remain the original color.

Nancy Hoffman has been teaching the technique of batik for over 30 years. It is one of her favorite art forms.

Grades 3–6

Tuition $15
