Have you already learned basic blacksmithing and now would like to add forge welding? It’s the art and skill of joining two pieces of steel with high heat and hammering. Bob will explain several types of forge welding methods (no Damascus). He will cover temperature, fluxes and scarfs. Once you gain confidence in your forge welding skills, you will proceed to the projects which include forge welding a towel bar, fire poker, forge roasting fork and chain links. Bob will have samples to view. Students should have basic blacksmithing skills and know how to tend the coal forge. Class size limited to 6; each student will have his/her own forge.

Level: Intermediate and above

Student Supply List:
Please wear cotton clothing and leather shoes. Bring safety glasses if you have them.
