18C234 - Beginning Macramé

18C234 - Beginning Macramé

It’s back! From its mysterious origins (Ancient China? Medieval Arabia?) to the hippie era, the knotting of rope for function, fashion, and decoration has persisted. Learn the basics of macramé in this one-day workshop. We’ll cover knotting terminology and strategies for rope management as you master the lark’s head, the square knot, and the many variations of the half hitch. You’ll come away with an attractive sampler, suitable for hanging. No previous experience is needed – but be careful, macramé can be addictive!

Level: Novice and above

Tuition $110
Materials Fee $20
