June 22, 2018

Pam Hawkins

18A650 - Tassel Necklaces

18A650 - Tassel Necklaces

Tassels have become statements all on their own. From small ones used in earrings, medium sized used in necklaces to larger tassels in home decor, tassels can make a statement in many ways depending on their size, color, texture and components. Pam will show you how to make a stunning Tassel Necklace using art threads, fibers, hand dyed silks and French ribbons. Create your tassel, then using wire assemble a beautiful bead stack with a Vintaj® Tulip bead cap. Holes will be punched into the cap to create delicate dangles on the outer edges. You will also create the simple wire loop, bead and jump ring necklace from scratch! Note: The necklace construction techniques can be used to make basic necklaces, Rosary style necklaces and bracelets.

Materials in class kit: Fibers, silk ribbons, French ribbons, art threads, Vintaj®; chain, Tulip bead caps and jumprings. Parawire® 20 & 22 ga. wire, beads, seed beads, large crystals, bead caps and cup chain. Instructions and step-by-step photos or diagrams.

Level: Novice and above

Student Supply List:
Sharp scissors, task light if needed, pen-paper. Optional: bring your own fibers and charms to add to your tassel if you like.
