18A610 - Blacksmithing for Home and Garden

Forge some magic with railroad spikes! Bob will start with forging fundamentals: tending the coal fire, hammer control, use of anvil and tongs. Once you're okay with basic skills, on to the fun projects! You will make ALL the projects in this class from heavy iron railroad spikes. And that means garden trowels, bottle openers, steak turners, weeding tools, and much more. Bob will have samples of the variety of useful tools you can make with hot iron and a hammer. This class is geared to beginning and intermediate students.
