18C200 - Beginning Rug Hooking: The Castle Rug

Whether you’ve always wanted to learn to make a hooked rug, or already have hooking skills, this workshop provides you a chance to develop your craft. By making this elegant Castle pattern project, you will master many hooking techniques including how to hook straight lines and curves, the Kaleidoscope technique, and ways to transition to different colors. In addition to working through all of the basic hooking techniques, we will cover the types of rugs, different cuts of wool and various backings, color planning, finishing options, and alternative tools and materials. There may not be sufficient time to complete your piece in class but all stages of rug finishing will be covered and you will leave with easy directions as a reminder. At the conclusion of this workshop, you will have learned everything needed to hook larger rugs.

No previous experience with hooking is necessary, but seasoned hookers are welcome.
