Registration Information
Minimum Age and Kids: Our adult workshops are designed for adults and youth ages 14 and up. However, some classes might be appropriate for mature younger children with the instructor’s consent. If you feel your younger child is mature enough, please discuss it with us BEFORE signing up. If you are interested in accompanying a child to class, please also discuss this with us BEFORE you register. In general we don’t allow non-registered observers or student assistants but some exceptions may apply, so please check first. Please note also that in addition to our adult workshops, we have a full schedule of shcool year and summer classes specifically for children. Class sizes are limited (usually 8 – 12 students) therefore early registration is recommended.

Class Information
Class Locations:
Classes are held in one of several buildings on the Shake Rag grounds
or in a large well equipped artist’s studio around the corner. Also,
we occasionally utilize other studio spaces in town within a few blocks
walk. You will receive your classroom assignment when you check in on
the day of class. It is advisable to arrive a few minutes early to allow
time to get to your classroom space. See our Map and Directions
What to Bring:
For most classes we supply everything you need for the class. If an
instructor requests that you bring materials or tools, this is noted in
the class description on the website and an exact list of what to bring
will be included on your confirmation letter.
Please DO NOT bring pets, young children or other observers to class.
Pets often create allergy problems and extra non-registered guests can
be disruptive to the class.
Lodging and Meals:
Class fees do not include lodging. We have 3 guest rooms and 2 guest
suites conveniently located right at Shake Rag Alley. The suites have
two bedrooms and a full kitchen, so are ideal for sharing with friends
for your workshop getaway. Visit the lodging page on our website for
details. In addition, there are three motels and a number of bed and
breakfasts in Mineral Point. For more information on Mineral Point lodging,
visit the Mineral Point website www.mineralpoint.com, or call our office
and we will be happy to assist you in finding lodging.
There are a number of restaurants within a few blocks of Shake Rag
Alley. You will receive a list of dining options when you check in
for class. For more information about Mineral Point shops and services see the Mineral Point web site.
