Explore the 3-D nature of the fibers media! Using a template (we’ll have several forms you may choose from), you will begin by making a felt box - and then you’ll be free to branch out with your own ideas for embellishment. Making one of these small (3” – 6”) vessels allows you to incorporate many media into your project—everything from beading and embroidery to applique and painting. Really, the sky is the limit! If you’d like, bring your own special beads, sequins and buttons as well as favorite fabrics, yarns and threads to incorporate into your unique container.

There will be plenty of tools and supplies on hand including the felt substrate, sewing machines, roving, embroidery floss and more, plus several reference books on embroidery stitches.

Level: Intermediate and above

Student Supply List:
Ruler and pencil for pattern drafting
Your own special beads, sequins, and buttons, along with beading needles and thread
Scissors (a small embroidery scissor and a sewing scissor)
Favorite fabrics and threads
If you have your own felting needle and pad, bring it
Small embroidery hoop

Tuition $190
Materials Fee $25
