2019 Events & Retreats at Shake Rag Alley 

SANTA DAY
DECEMBER 7

Once again, Mr. and Mrs. Claus will visit Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts. Photos with Santa are a great holiday tradition. Decorate gingerbread houses and make holiday crafts -- it's a full day of family fun! Save the date. Further information may be available in the column to the right under Events.

WINTER WRITERS SERIES
Dec 5, 2018 - April 10, 2019

Enjoy Wednesday evenings with award-winning Wisconsin authors sharing their work and creative inspiration. All readings take place at Shake Rag Alley's Lind Pavilion, 411 Commerce Street, in Mineral Point. 7:00 PM. Admission is free. 

SPRING GARAGE SALE
APRIL 12 & 13

Support Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts at the most eclectic garage sales of the season. We can't tell you what will be on the tables yet, but our generous friends always have the most interesting finds!

WRITERS RETREAT
APRIL 26-28

Nationally recognized authors gather at Shake Rag Alley to offer workshops, craft talks, readings, and manuscript reviews of short-form fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry and young adult literature.

JEWELRY MAKING BOOT CAMP
MAY 3-5

Choose from introductory level jewelry classes with nationally recognized jewelers in a range of techniques and styles from funky to fine. Use this weekend to explore different approaches, learn new skills, network with other jewelers, and leave with a lot of new ideas and jewelry.


TOUR OF FAIRY HOMES
JUNE 1

Stroll the magical grounds at Shake Rag Alley Center for the Arts to see original fairy homes built especially for this tour. If you should fall in love with a fairy house, you will be able to bid in a silent auction, which ends at four. Family-friendly activities throughout the day.

WOODLANDERS GATHERING
JULY 11-14

Beginner and experienced craftspersons are in for an incredible time with more than 20 talented instructors and over 40 nature-based workshops to chose from, including: rustic furniture, garden structures, baskets, concrete/mosaic sculptures, blacksmithing, woodcarving, working with leather, fiber, gourds, and more. Learn More

PRINTMAKING RETREAT
Hands-on Image Making
SEPTEMBER 27-29

Explore an exciting array of printmaking workshops, most of which involve printing simply and easily by hand. Try a new technique or sign up for more fun in your favorite mode: woodcuts, multi-color linocuts, mono prints, copper etching, silkscreen printing and more. Learn More


HALLOWEEN MASQUERADE BALL

TRICK'R TREAT
OCTOBER 31

If you are a kid, or want to act like one, put on your wildest costume and come to Shake Rag Alley. Children of all ages will meet friendly (not scary) costumed characters passing out Halloween treats at each of the historic buildings. Save the date.
