Alley Stage

Celebrating its sixth year, Alley Stage is a nationally recognized theater company based in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, dedicated to the production of original and popular plays, readings and music events. Alley Stage produces a summer season on an intimate outdoor stage nestled in historic Shake Rag Alley, as well as events throughout the year at Mineral Point Opera House and other local venues.


Alley Stage is led by a Producing Artistic Committee of local performing arts enthusiasts including Don Hay, Heather Murn, Ainsley Anderson, Jen Logueflower and Terry Ward, in conjunction with an Artistic Advisory Committee of performers, directors, teachers and other Alley Stage supporters.

Now Accepting Submissions for 2012: An Evening of One Acts
Alley Stage is now accepting original one act play submissions for its upcoming 2012: An Evening of One Acts, to be performed in early May at the Mineral Point Opera House. Submitted one act plays should have minimal technical requirements, run no longer than 15 minutes, require no more than 3 actors and be based on the theme “2012.” Six original one acts will be selected for back-to-back production in this  exciting one-evening event.

Call For Artists, Writers and Volunteers
Alley Stage welcomes submissions of original plays for consideration for upcoming seasons. Plays should have minimal technical requirements suitable for an outdoor setting, and should require no more than 4-5 actors. Alley Stage also welcomes submissions of original works-in-progress for live reading events and critiques by arts professionals. Alley Stage is supported by a large network of invaluable volunteer house staff, backstage/technical workers, artists, marketers and student interns. There are also opportunities for paid work during the summer season. Join us today!

Alley Stage is the performing arts branch of Shake Rag Alley, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization, and is run through the generous support of donors, grants and revenue generated through ticketed events and fundraisers. Please consider donating to Alley Stage to help with production costs, artist stipends, equipment, maintenance and grounds costs, and help us continue our tradition of producing professional quality performing arts events in Mineral Point.
