19R264E - Poetry Writing Workshop

Join poet Richard Hedderman and explore the process and craft of poetry writing through a close examination of the work of the participants. The goal of the workshop is to develop poetry-writing skills and help participants achieve a greater creative, critical, and aesthetic understanding of their work. Lead by the instructor, participants will engage in an interactive review of each other's work. The workshop format includes reading assignments, writing exercises, and discussion. Beginning and experienced writers are welcome.

The workshop is limited to 12 participants to provide a meaningful level of discussion, and careful attention to the work of each participant.

NOTE: Participants will be asked to send in two poems each in advance. In order to facilitate more effective critique, please limit poems to 30 lines.

Level: Novice and above
