18A545 - Picket-Tab Pendant

Learn fundamental metal skills as you fabricate a deep bezel pendant. Geared for the confident beginner and intermediate student, this project is an immersive introduction to basic metal smithing processes. Students will learn to: use a jeweler’s saw, file, solder, sand, use a flex shaft and attachments, make picket tabs, and add a liver of sulfur patina to copper. Really -- this is a smorgasbord of techniques all in one spiffy package.

Materials Fee includes: copper sheet, copper pipe, solder, sandpaper, other consumables, and ball chain. Students will also have use of the instructor's tools during class.

Level: Beginner and above

Student Supply List:
Dust mask, apron, magnification, safety glasses, fine-tip Sharpie, scissors, 3/4” diameter inserts (flat backed) to set in your bezel -- think coins, images, graphic tin, etc.

Tuition $120
Materials Fee $20
