19R173B - Gas Forge Blacksmithing Level I


 

The beginning blacksmith student will learn safe operation and other basics of the propane gas forge. Demonstrations will be given at each stage of the class and both instructors will be available for questions and assistance. Projects will teach basic skills such as drawing out, tapering, and bending metal with the goal of creating both leaves and wall hooks. Students will leave with the knowledge and confidence to acquire needed equipment to create their own projects as well as advance to other levels.

Level:
Beginner and above

Student Supply List:

Wear cotton/wool clothing and closed-toe leather shoes. Bring safety glasses if you have them and heat-resistant gloves.
