19R161B - Steeling Nature


 

Join Sabrina and have fun experimenting and playing with metal. Using nature as your inspiration, you will create playful and engaging sculptures from found metal and steel stock. Starting with the basics, Sabrina will cover a range of metal fabrication and forming techniques as well as provide you with many tips and tricks for working wisely with a variety of tools. Techniques will include fabrication, welding, plasma cutting, basic forging, and cold connections. No experience necessary. Materials fee includes a kit of 16-gauge and 8-gauge sheet steel, 3/8" round and 1/2” square stock.

Level: Beginner and above

Student Supply List:
Wear cotton clothing and leather work boots and bring safety glasses, leather gloves, and ear plugs. Feel free to bring your own scrap metal.
